Rancher/Agents

Kathy McWilliams Smith

Rancher/Agent

Office Owner & Manager

About Kathy

Having grown up on the East Coast I made a trip to California in 1970, fell in love with the geography, weather, & people,  moved and have lived here since.  I have been a licensed agent for 27 years, working in residential offices in Pacific Palisades, Brentwood, Beverly Hills and Santa Ynez. Since 1982 I have  been involved with the  development of this area.

Education: Ecole Brillantmont, Lausanne, Switzerland, Emma Willard, Troy, N.Y. Wellsley College, Wellsley, Mass.  Graduated with a Degree in Economics.

Over the past years I checked out pretty near every area in California that would be suitable for our horse breeding operation, Santa Ynez, Carmel Valley to name a couple. Now we, Tom and I, have made Piute Springs our home and home for our horses (stallions Fire An Ice, Dreammaker, Skips Cream Supreme, Priceless  et al). No place could compare to this area in value for the money, climate (3,200 ft. means cooler summers, sunnier winters) clean air, low population density (mostly 20 acre min. size ranches) and immediate, out the gate access to hundreds of miles of horse trails. Tiffany Ranch covers 40 beautiful acres  and you are cordially invited to see more of our life and horses here by going to www.tiffanyranch.com

About Jim Osborne.

I purchased the ranch site I now live on in 1983. This is after 2 years of looking for affordable acreage to eventually retire on. My wife and I would visit the property on weekends, coming from the San Bernardino County area.

After 6 years of visiting, each weekend it became harder for us to leave the peace and tranquility and return to the noise, smog, and traffic!

In 1989 we moved to our "country paradise;" built our dream home, and now, occasionally visit the "southland." Our concern about seeing the grandkids as often didn’t happen…they want to visit us, and ride grandpa’s tractor! Obviously, we are very happy with country living. We are home!

Jim Osborne has been a licensed real estate associate since 1992, and knows—pretty much—everything there is to know about ranches in these parts.
